HISTORY

St Laurence's College first acquired Camp Laurence in 1974, as noted in the St Laurence's College Diamond Jubilee Magazine in 1975 -

“A milestone in the development of the College is being reached this year with the establishment of our own Camp, or what may be more euphemistically called an environmental field study centre, at Lake Moogerah. The idea was conceived in 1974 and has become a reality this year…An innovations Grant from the Australian Government of $4,750 enabled us to proceed with this venture…”

Since 2016 Camp Laurence has undergone major refurbishment including:

  • Installation of 7 Cabins;
  • Large undercover meeting/eating area;
  • Replacement of Amenities block;
  • Bitumen bus turn-around area;
  • Concrete paths/areas linking all facilities;
  • Dining Hall refurbishment – ceiling and floor replacement;
  • Installation of PA system and speakers.
